Eriya ta Cassegrain eriya ce mai ƙarfin haske mai ƙarfi biyu, wacce sunansa da ƙirarta suka samo asali ne daga na'urar hangen nesa ta Cassegrain. Ta ƙunshi na'urar hangen nesa ta farko (paraboloid) da na'urar hangen nesa ta biyu (hyperboloid), wacce aka sanya a saman wurin da ke haskaka babban na'urar hangen nesa.
Ka'idar aikinta ita ce kamar haka: ƙaho na ciyarwa da farko yana watsa raƙuman lantarki zuwa ga na'urar haskakawa ta biyu, wanda daga nan yake nuna raƙuman ruwa zuwa na'urar haskakawa ta farko. Na'urar haskakawa ta farko tana haɗa waɗannan raƙuman zuwa wani haske mai layi ɗaya, mai matuƙar jagora don watsawa. Wannan hanyar gani mai "naɗewa" tana ba da damar sanya abincin a bayan na'urar haskakawa ta farko, wanda hakan ke rage asarar layin ciyarwa da kuma sauƙaƙa kulawa.
